DANIEL ALEXANDER LONG

Daniel Alexander Long, 65,  of Springfield, WV,  died on November 23, 2009 at the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center, Cumberland, MD.   He was born on April 11, l944 in Springfield, WV, the son of the late Blair A. and Dollie V. (McDonald) Long.   Mr. Long was preceded in death by his wife, Roberta (Merritt) Long.   Mr. Long was a graduate of Romney High School, Class of l962;  employed by the Kinney Shoe Corporation until their closing;  and until 2002 was an employ of the Hampshire County Assessor’s Office.  He was a life long farmer and loved his dogs, Sammie and Sadie.  Mr. Long was an active member of the 351st Ordinance of the U.S. Army Reserves for six years. He is survived by one  Son:  Barry A. Long and wife, Karen, Springfield, WV; one Daughter:  Shana Long Benson and husband, Danny, Springfield, WV; two  Sisters:  Barbara A. Cupp and Linda L. Bennett both of Shanks, WV; and two  Grandsons:  Kristofer Alexander Long and Kirkland Alexander Long who were the loves of his life; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at the Shaffer Funeral Home on Friday, November 27, 2009  from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.  Funeral  services will be Saturday, November 28, at 11:00 a.m. at the Shaffer Funeral Home, Romney, WV  with Rev. Norman Landis officiating. Interment will be in Branch Mt. Cemetery, Three Churches, WV.

NANCY CATHERINE MABRY

Nancy Catherine Mabry, 84, of Romney, WV died Nov. 20, 2009 at Hampshire Memorial Hospital, Romney, WV.  She was born on March 10, l925 in Somerset, PA, the  daughter of the late Daniel and Agnes (Blubaugh) Pyle.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, Jack Mabry.  Mrs. Mabry moved to Romney from Baltimore, MD in l998.  She enjoyed puzzles and reading.  She is survived by two sons:  Jack Earl Mabry and John R. Mabry both of  Romney, WV.  Interment will be private.

VIRGINIA PAULINE BROWN KIMBLE

Virginia Pauline Brown Kimble, 94, of Romney, WV, died  Thursday, November 12, 2009, at Dawn View Center, Ft. Ashby, WV.  The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 15, 2009, from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Shaffer Funeral Home in Romney, WV.  Funeral services will be  Monday, November 16, 2009,  at 10:00 a.m. at Shaffer Funeral Home.  Interment will be in Ebenezer Cemetery, Romney, WV.

DESTINEY "DUSTY" LYNN SAVILLE

Destiney “Dusty” Lynn Saville,  50 , of Romney, WV died Saturday, November 7, 2009 at the Winchester Medical Center, Winchester, VA.  She was born on December 27, 1958 in Cumberland, MD, the daughter of  the  late Vincent E. “Buss” Saville, Sr. and Buanna Virginia Simmons. “Dusty” enjoyed the outdoors, doing crafts, trips to the beach and being on the go.  She is survived by one brother, Vincent E. “Chip” Saville, Jr., his wife Carolyn of Inwood, WV and a dear friend Barbara Lambert. Friends will be received on Saturday, November 21, 2009 from 1 – 3 p.m., with a brief and informal service occurring at 2:45 p.m., at Shaffer Funeral Home in Romney, WV with Pastor Brian Moreland officiating.  Interment will be at Indian Mound Cemetery, Romney, WV following the service. In lieu of flowers, it was Dusty’s wish that contributions be made to an animal shelter or the SPCA.
