RUBY PEARL BIDINGER Ruby Pearl Bidinger, 92, of Green Spring, WV died at her residence on May 3, 2010. Mrs. Bidinger was born on May 20, 1917 in Springfield, WV, the daughter of the late Thomas and Cleda Kimble Landis Crock. She was preceded in death by her husband, James “Jim” Harold Bidinger on July 5, 2008; one brother, Harry “Perk” Crock; one sister, Irma Fields; and two great grandsons. Mrs. Bidinger was a glass cutter and the owner of Sloan Glass Company in Green Spring, WV for many years. Surviving are one son: Harry “Perk” Bidinger, Green Spring, WV; three Daughters: Sylvia S. Talbot, Springfield, WV, Joyce Warnecke, Avon Park, FL, and Vicki Berry, Semora, NC; one Sister: Charlotte Landis, LaVale, MD; 11 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. The family will receive friends at the Shaffer Funeral Home, Romney on Wednesday from 6-8 pm. Funeral services will be at the Shaffer Funeral Home on Thursday, May 6, 2010 at 11:00 am with Pastor James R. Showers officiating.. Interment will be in Springfield Hill Cemetery, Springfield, WV.
PEGGY LOU MILLER Peggy Lou Miller, 86, of Romney, WV died May 6, 2010 at the Hampshire Memorial Hospital, Romney, WV. Peggy Lou was born on February 29, 1924 in Washington, D.C., the daughter of the late Rev. Harry C. and Lucy A. (Tanquary) Marsh. She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Ann Tanquary Miller and one brother, Dr. William H. Marsh. Peggy Lou received her Masters Degree in Physical Education from Smith College, North Hampton, MA. She taught at Hood College in Fredericksburg, MD. In 1951 Peggy Lou married “Ned” Miller and continued her career at the WV Schools for the Deaf and Blind. After her daughters were born she joined “Ned” in raising sheep and growing grapes. Retiring from farming, Peggy Lou sold real estate for a few years. She enjoyed music, reading, and gardening both flowers and vegetables. Peggy Lou is survived by her husband of 59 years, Edward “Ned” W. Miller, Jr.; one1 Daughter: Margaret I. Miller, Kalamazoo, MI; and two Nephews: Michael and Scott Marsh. The family will receive friends at the Shaffer Funeral Home, Romney, WV on Sunday, May 9, 2010 from 3-6 pm. The funeral will be Monday, May 10 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Stephens Episcopal Church, Romney with Father Michael Simon officiating. Interment will be in Indian Mound Cemetery, Romney, WV. Memorials may be made to Alzhiemer’s Disease Research; PO Box 1950, Clarksburg, MD 20871-1950. MARIE JOSEPHINE HIGH Marie Josephine High, 91, of Junction, WV, died May 6, 2010 at her residence. Mrs.High was born on October 23, 1918 in Burlington, WV, the daughter of the late Charles Marshall and Cora Elizabeth (Rogers) Whipp. Mrs. High was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Edward, Sr. on January 1, 1999; one son, Charles Edward High, Jr., on December 18, 1994; four brothers and three sisters. Mrs. High was a member of the Marvin Chapel United Methodist Church, Purgitsville, WV, a homemaker and helped her husband operate their store for 20 years. She loved to garden, raise flowers, sing and play the guitar. Surviving are: one Son: Hubert A. High and wife, Gloria, Romney, WV; one Granddaughter: Shelby Farmer, Niles, MI; two Great Grandchildren: Morgan and Matthew Farmer, Niles, MI; one Step Grandson: Roger Alkire and wife Trisha; and two2 Step Great Grandchildren: David and Brittany. The family will receive friends on Monday from 3-6 pm at the Shaffer Funeral Home, Romney, WV. The funeral will be Tuesday, May 11, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at the Shaffer Funeral Home, Romney, WV with the Rev. Glen Hamrick officiating. Burial will be in Indian Mound Cemetery, Romney, WV. Memorials may be made to the Marvin Chapel United Methodist Church, Purgitsville, WV. ROGER PHIL WINE Roger Phil Wine, 62, of Burlington, WV died Sunday, May 30, 2010 at his residence. Mr. Wine was born on May 31, 1947 at Sector, WV, the son of the late Harry Lewis and Nellie Ruth (Spurling) Wine. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his granddaughter, Shelly Lynn Wine. Mr. Wine is survived by his wife of 44 years, Melda Catherine (Curran) Wine; one Son: Roger Dale Wine and wife, Ellen, Burlington, WV; two Grandchildren: Carol Nicole Dees, Burlington, WV and Robert Dale Wine, Keyser, WV; four Step Grandchildren: David Lamar Gue, Jr. and Braden James Gue both of Wardensville, WV, Daniel Wayne Kennan, Burlington, WV and Kamerin Nickleson; four Step Great Grandchildren: Tina Renee Miller, Trevor Logan Gue, Chloe Jade Gue, and Skylar Gage Kennan, and Brayden James Gue.. , Wardensville, WV, four Step Great Grandchildren: Tina, Trevor, Chloe, and Skylar. The family will receive friends at the Shaffer Funeral Home, Romney on Tuesday, June 1, 2010 from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm. The funeral service will be at 1:00 pm at the Shaffer Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 1 with President Marty Fisher officiating. Interment will be in Elijah High Cemetery, Purgitsville, WV.
